What to Expect

Welcome to Brazil! The land of tropical jungles and the warmest people on the planet. Spend time in the energetic city of Rio and experience the views on top of Sugarloaf Mountain, learn some salsa moves and eat delicious food with the locals.

Escape to the UNESCO town of Paraty, with its cobbled streets and a maze of hidden beaches. Relax on a private boat cruising between jungle islands and tropical coastline. Snorkel in the azure waters of the Silver River and be wowed by the amazing sea life and the stunning natural coastline, waterfalls and caves.

Get close up to the wild life of Pantanal in the heart of Brazil and ride through the tropical forests. Brazil is just waiting to be explored!

Brazil Tour Itinerary*:

Day 1 - Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro known as ‘The Marvellous City’ because of its breathtaking landscapes, green mountains and crystal-clear seas. As soon as you step outside the airport and into your private transfer you’ll be hypnotised by the warmth and the charm of this irresistible city. Bursting with energy, you can hear the distant sounds of samba music, laughter and chatter where ever you go.

Freshen up at the hotel which is next to the world-famous Copacabana beach and and time to get to know your fellow Voyage girlfriends over one of Brazils favourite cocktails, the Caipirinha. Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant and then the rest of the evening is yours to chat, relax or venture out to one of the nearby bars.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast, the adventure begins. Our private transport will take us on a scenic drive from Copacabana beach, towards Botafogo beach and passing Guanabara Palace, on the way to Corcovado Hill and the greatest national icon – Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro. It has been recently been named as one of the seven wonders of the world and when you see it in its magnificence you’ll understand why.

Next its to the district of Urca and the world-famous SugarLoaf mountain. Be prepared for some spectacular views as we board a cable car to the top of Urca Hill, where you’ll see views of Guanabara Bay and then on to Sugarloaf with the magnificent 360-degree views of the city below.

On our decent we pass along the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema before stopping for a traditional Brazilian BBQ lunch at a local Churrascaria, (steakhouse restaurant). Vegetarian options available.

On our way back to the hotel, we pass through the city’s historic centre to see the Lapa Arches and the Selaron Stairs, an amazing urban work of art by the late Jorge Selaron.

The rest of the afternoon is free to spend with your Voyage girlfriends exploring some more of this vibrant city or relax with a few cocktails.

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro
The best way to get to know a city is by strolling along the streets and rubbing shoulders with the locals.

Today on our private food tour, you wont just be eating like the locals you’ll experience first hand the bustling street markets, food vendors and the little bars and restaurants that have been favourites with the locals for generations. We’ll see street art, the Carioca Aqueduct and Selarón Stepsand learn about the history of Rio, chat about life in the city today whilst tasting everything from exotic fruits and juices to weird Amazonian dishes, Brazilian beers and cocktails.

In the evening we are invited to dress up and put on our dancing shoes as we head to our private Samba class at a top school in Rio. With your new found skills, the evening is yours to put your new moves into action!

Day 4 - Paraty
After breakfast our driver takes us to Paraty. Set against a backdrop of steep mountains covered in lush forest, the small, historic coastal town of Paraty is one of Brazil’s gems. It was a port during the Brazilian Gold Rush and the cobbled streets of the colonial centre are lined with 17th and 18th century buildings and churches. Paraty sits on the Bay of Ilha Grande. The emerald green waters are dotted with tropical islands and lined with secluded beaches.

After checking into your hotel, a luxury restored 300 year old building, it will be like stepping back in time, a definite contrast after leaving Rio.

Tonight we are having dinner at one of the Pararty’s award winning local restaurants where if you like fish, its said to be unbeatable.

Day 5 - Paraty
With shades, suncream and bathing suits on, we head off for a day of pure escapism as we set sail on a traditional schooner across Paraty’s shimmering ocean.

With our local captain at the wheel, we cruise between a labyrinth of secluded islands, tropical jungles and hidden lagoons. and find secret spots to dock, stretch out on the golden sands, swim in the warm tropical waters or hike through lush stretches of rainforest.

On board, there’s snorkelling gear as well as an icebox brimming with cold drinks and a fresh seafood picnic. water is crystal-clear here and the colourful fish are a spectacular site even if you don’t snorkel. Today is an absolute slice of paradise.

Day 6 - Paraty
Today is a free day to investigate this beautiful town. Traffic is not allowed in the town centre which makes walking down the many cobbled streets so much easier. There’s so much to see from 17th century churches and colourful buildings, artists exhibitions and galleries to browsing around the shops or having a glass of Portuguese rosé in one of the white washed waterfront cafés.

This evening we have a cooking class with an international chef Yara Roberts. She will show us variations on the traditional Brazilian cuisine, from the Amazon, to Bahia and Minas Gerais among others. During the demonstrations Yara will teach us about the cultural significance of each region, explaining the origins of the respective ingredients, and their nutritional values. Following our lesson, the school staff will serve us a wonderful 3 course dinner with wine, beer and soft drinks.

Day 7 - Pantanal
Today is a long day of travel, but with a such a great reward waiting for us at the end as we’re going deep into the heart of Brazil, away from crowds and surrounded by nature and wildlife.

After breakfast we head to the airport to catch our flight to Campo Grande and then onwards to our lodge in Pantanal. The Pantanal is a vast UK-sized area of seasonally flooded savannahs and tropical forests. With its extraordinarily variety of flora and fauna and diverse eco-logical sub-regions, the Pantanal stands as one of the world’s great natural wonders.

This evening, the most delicious dinner will be served in our lodge where a lot of the produce is home grown.

Day 8 - Pantanal
Today includes a full day of adventurous activities which can vary depending on the season and weather conditions, but no matter what, expect to be wowed!

With so much wild life in the area, we get to see anything from giant otters, anteaters, capybaras, monkeys, caiman, tapir and different species of birds. We may be trekking, taking a boat tour of the river, horse riding, Piranha fishing or a combination. Definitely a day to bring your cameras!

Day 9 - Pantanal - Bonito
It’s an early morning start as we head for the long but scenic drive to Bonito, which is known as Brazils best kept secret with its pristine natural wonders, crystal clear waters, hidden caves, breathtaking waterfalls, and jungle creatures, its like visiting Disneyland without the Disney.

After a delicious lunch we visit Rio Sucuri and get to experience the azure blue waters of the Sucuri River.

As we relax and float down the natural aquarium, we are able to see the abundance of water life for meters away.

The evening is yours to relax, have a glass of wine or further explore with your Voyage girlfriends in this beautiful paradise.

Day 10 - Bonito
An early start with a visit to the famous Gruta Azul, (Blue Lake Cave), where we’re 200 metres into the earth, in-fact 200 metres down to experience the intense blue waters of the lake with its beautiful ancient speleothems.

Yesterday’s activities were breathtaking alone but today is going to blow you away as we to float down the Rio Prata (Silver River), quipped with snorkels (and a lesson if you’ve not snorkelled before), we’ll drift quietly and totally in awe in what seems like a huge crystal-clear aquarium of a vast array of underwater life. A delicious Boniton lunch awaits us where you can reflect on the experiences this region has offered.

There’s time to freshen up for your last evening in this beautiful town. No reservations can be pre-arranged in the local restaurants but you’re free to go out with your Voyage girlfriends to try somewhere new, relax in the hotel or sit in a bar chatting until the early hours of the morning.

Day 11 - Bonito - Departure Day
After breakfast and your farewells, it’s time to tear yourself away from this paradise and head back to the airport.

You’ve experienced the energetic city of Rio and Salsa danced with maybe a Caipirinha or two, relaxed on the hidden beaches, of Paraty and walked around the 17th century colonial town, traveled deep into the heart of Brazil to the tropical forests and wild life of Pantanal, and witnessed the breathtaking over and underground scenery of Bonito…and so much more.

This is just a taste of the diversity of Brazil.
