Malaysia + Borneo Tour Itinerary*:

Day 1 - Kuala Lumpur
As we touch down in Kuala Lumpur, the largest and most developed city in the country with its soaring skyscrapers, luxe hotels, old colonial buildings and bustling food stalls, our private transfer will be waiting to whisk us off to our gorgeous hotel.

Malaysia’s effervescent capital dates back to 1857, when a small mining town grew into a booming city during the Industrial Revolution, attracting Malays from nearby villages, British businessmen, Chinese labourers and Indian immigrants, Kuala Lumpur grew into the exotic melting pot that you see today.

Early evening we head out into this vibrant city for an orientation walk followed by drinks in the Skybar which has amazing views of the Petronas Twin Towers and then to a traditional Malay restaurant for dinner…our adventure officially begins!

Hotel: Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur

Meals:  Welcome Drinks + Dinner

Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur
Today we move away from the skyscrapers and spend three hours of eating like a local in KL’s foodie hotspots. Starting at Brickfields, (Little India), to sample yam and sweet potato fritters, vade and curry puffs, we then try some Malaysian sweet treats, including fresh banana fritters and cendol; an exotic mix of shaved ice, plum sugar, kidney beans and coconut milk jelly.

Chinatown is next, where we feast on spicy noodles with lime juice and amazing Chinese pancakes and finish at an old-school coffee shop, for kaya, toast and coconut jam.

The rest of the afternoon is free time to explore KL. Walk around the banyan tree-lined streets, try your haggling skills at the handicraft market, explore the one of the ornate temples or visit the Petronas Towers you saw in the distance last night, so many choices, but you could also just relax in the glory of your hotel.
